Back to College Essentials
'Tis the season for back to school! Many people have probably moved back into college already, but I just got here a few days ago. Moving into college requires a lot of planning to ensure that you do not forget anything- because after all, this is your home for the next year! This is my first year living in a town house, so not only did I have to pack for my room, but I also had to bring essentials for a kitchen and a bathroom. Luckily, I have 7 other fantastic housemates, so we were able to divide it up a bit. I have come to realize that there are certain essentials not only for your house, but also for school to set the path for a successful year!
My first essential is my S'well water bottle. This is my second marble water bottle from them. Last year, I purchased the 17oz, but I found myself constantly re-filling it. I decided to get the bigger 25 oz so I could fill it up less. S'well bottles are my favorite, because not only do they keep your drinks hot for 12 hours/ cold for 24, but there are so many fun designs to choose from. However, I like to stick with the white marble, because that is my favorite pattern!
Second, I would recommend getting some sort of scent for your room- whether if be a wall plug in, or reed diffuser (as pictured above). Candles are not allowed in dorm rooms, but you still want your space to smell good! I got this mini diffuser from Pier1 Imports. I had this in my room last year too, and it lasted me a good few months. My favorite scent is Pumpkin Spice. Whenever anyone walked into my room, they immediately smelled the pumpkin. I will keep this in my room all year, even when it is no longer fall!
My next essential is probably the most important to me. And that would be a planner! For the past 6 years, I have used Lilly Pulitzer agendas, but this year I decided to get a new one. Pictured above is my new planner from Me and My Big Ideas- and it is the Happy Planner. I am obsessed with anything marble and rose gold (as many people are!), so when I saw this online, I knew I had to have it! I love to plan everything out so a planner is an absolute must have. I decided to keep two this year however, mainly because I couldn't completely give up my Lilly agendas. I am using my Happy Planner for all things related to school and my Lilly one for everything else (my blog, family events, etc).
I am one of those students who prefers hand written notes to typed notes, so naturally my notebooks are an essential. To make my desk look cuter, and to make me more excited to take notes, I try to pick out cute ones!. In high school, I always bought Five Star notebooks with the matching folders. I have since strayed away from that- I now prefer a cuter notebook! Target has the best selection, and my favorite brand is Cambridge Limited. They have the best colors in my opinion and the best styles!
Last, but certainly not least, is my laptop! I recently purchased a new MacBook, since my other one was getting old and slow. I am obsessed with the new pro especially the Touch Bar! I mentioned earlier that I write all my notes, but to help me learn I always type up my notes as well. My laptop is an absolute every day essential so I had to include it! If it wasn't for my laptop, I would not have a blog!
